Community Swimming Grants Program

The Australian Government is investing $28.9M over four years to get the least active Australians active through the Move It AUS - Participation Grants Program. Swimming Australia has received Move It AUS funding and have created the Community Swimming Grants Program so we can partner with local swimming and aquatic’s providers to get more people moving in the water.

Vale Merv Millar

Sad news of the passing of one of the founding members of LIWA Aquatics. Merv passed away peacefully at St John of Gods in Midland Sunday 25 August 2019 Merv was the original manager of Bilgoman Pool and worked for the Shire of Mundaring from 1968 to 1998. He was the coessential pool manager, professional, friendly and supportive of all the local kids and their families.

LIWA Aquatics turns 50

It all began back in 1969 when it was originally called the "Swimming Pool Managers Association of WA Inc."  From approximately 1957 - 1967 the Local Authorities Swimming Pool Conferences were held annually in WA and from this a steering committee was developed. On the 18 July 1969 a constitution was adopted and the Association was formalised. Fred Smith Life Member of LIWA Aquatics was on the committee when it began....

Pool Lifeguard Challenge 2019

Pool lifeguards from various aquatic centres around the state descended on HBF Stadium last month for the 2019 Royal Life Saving WA Pool Lifeguard Challenge proudly sponsored by LIWA Aquatics. The highly-anticipated event, held annually in late February, sees teams of lifeguards pitted against each other for a day of friendly rivalry. Each team of four competes in a series of challenging events designed to test their fitness and skill levels.
