This award recognises facilities that demonstrate excellence and innovation in design, development, and/or operation, making a significant impact on their communities. It is open to both new and existing facilities across WA.
Award Criteria

- High standards of cleanliness, maintenance, and safety
- Compliance with industry regulations and best practices
- Innovative design, upgrades, or enhancements
2. Community Engagement & Impact - for example
- Programs and initiatives that benefit the local community
- Accessibility and inclusivity for diverse user groups
- Partnerships with schools, community groups, or health organisations
3. Innovation & Sustainability - for example
- Implementation of innovative technology or practices
- Sustainability initiatives (e.g., energy efficiency, water conservation, waste reduction)
- Unique facility features that set it apart from others
4. Customer Experience & Satisfaction - for example
- High levels of customer service and user satisfaction
- Strategies to improve visitor experience and engagement
- Positive feedback from members, patrons, or industry peers
5. Contribution to the Industry & Staff Development - for example
- Staff training, development, and leadership initiatives
- Contributions to industry advancements or professional development
- Involvement in industry associations or events
6. Safety & Compliance - for example
- Results of pool safety assessments and compliance
- Incident and hazard reporting
- Risk management planning
- Participation in Watch Around Water programs
