
The Aquatic and Recreation Centre (ARC) Fees and Charges Project is an annual data collection initiative that gathers and shares details on fees, charges, and other relevant management information from leisure, aquatic, recreation, and sports facilities across both metropolitan and regional Western Australia. The project aims to:
1. Assist facility managers with sharing operational fees and charges.
2. Enable effective benchmarking and comparison of WA ARC fees and charges
3. Help evaluate and refine fee structures and pricing models
4. Enhance data accessibility for strategic planning and business case development
Participating in this project contributes to a valuable resource that helps inform better decision-making and benchmarking across the sector.

2. Key Dates
• Data Collection Opens: 1st April 2025
• Data Collection Closes: 15th April 2025
3. Participation and Submission
Participating centres will receive a standardised spreadsheet designed to capture fees, charges, and other operational details for
• aquatic centres (pools only),
• recreation (sports courts and/or health & fitness), and
• aquatic and recreation centres
Lodge with LIWA on the email address provided and by the date provided.
4. Data Collation and Sharing
LIWA’s Role
After submissions close, LIWA will collate all data. All data will then be circulated to contributors.
LIWA may publish the benchmarking information for advocacy and sector-wide benefit, ensuring that the broader industry can reference accurate and up-to-date information.
Public Availability
The information collected is publicly available and is not subject to a confidentiality agreement.
Discretion Advised: Contributors are encouraged to use the data responsibly and for the intended purposes (i.e., planning, advocacy, comparison, and review).

- Benchmarking
Compare fees and charges across multiple facilities to identify trends, best practices, and potential areas for improvement.
- Business Planning & Review
Use the data to inform business cases, financial planning, and the review of current fees and charges models.
- Sector Collaboration
Strengthen collaboration among facility managers and operators by sharing knowledge and insights that help guide strategic decisions.
